Hey #photography and art friends,
Is anyone using Night Shade or Glaze to protect images from AI scrapers? If so, what's your experience with it like so far?

@Gargron nice things about SLRs is that if you focus through the finder and see aperture blades move, most likely you’re ok. But there’s still that wait when it comes to film, it’s like a scratch card. I like it. Hope your photos turn out as you wish they did.
Hey #believeinfilm friends,
There's a film photographers' competition deadline coming up with a $1,000 cash prize for the first place (and other prizes, inc. exhibition).
It's called Analog Sparks. Entry fees range from $10 to $25, which is quite reasonable in my opinion.
@Gargron it’s tons of fun! If you’re still in the US, Ektachrome (Kodak’s slide film) is probably cheaper than in the EU. It’s also extremely good (Kodak actually resurrected it a few years back, was quite a story)
@Gargron have you tried their slide film? It's really good. They've discontinued some lines, but Velvia & Provia are still available in pretty much any format.
Hey #believeinfilm friends,
I've been working on an insane amount of film development this past couple of weeks; thus, I couldn't be very active here. Also a bit tired of social media.
However, there are some news (ish) that I feel obligated to share:
Fujifilm Superia X-Tra, an ISO 400 colour 135 film has been discontinued.

In the post (above) I explain why it's unexpected this time and what I hoped to hear from the company instead.
@Gargron a woman approached me believing I took a picture of her. She was 50+m away, I didn’t see her, and it was a wide-angle lens. She demanded I erase the photo, I promised not to share it and assured that she won’t be visible even if I did. She threatened to call the cops, I was ok with it, she said she’ll mace me, I suggested that would be an assault. She said she’d beat the shit out of me; she was much taller but I ignored her. She sucker punched me and ran away. Wasn’t that bad.
Hey #believeinfilm friends,
This is it.
Building the “World’s First” Gingerbread Camera
https://www.analog.cafe/r/building-the-worlds-first-gingerbread-camera-twpg
This thing I built (and ate) uses Instax Square film, has an active isomalt sugar lens, and a gravity paper shutter with a Christmas tree-shaped aperture!
It was featured on PetaPixel, designboom and others. But I would love for you to learn more about it here as it's the most comprehensive overview of the project with 47+ photos.
Hey #believeinfilm friends,
It's time to reveal my "secret camera project." I've been working on it for the past few weeks and I am tired. But I also think it's the kind of stupid fun I'm more than happy to lose slip over. I call it:
Sugar-Lens Gingerbread Instax Square (edible film camera)
I talk about this camera in this month's Community Letter briefly — https://www.analog.cafe/r/film-photography-news-november-2023-recap-m7kh
But I'll post more results and talk about the design process this December.
@Gargron Atlanta Film Co sells and processes 250D, looks like they have some in stock: https://www.atlantafilmco.com/product-page/hand-rolled-250d
@feditips is it possible to subscribe to rss feeds and have them appear in my Mastodon feed? Kinda the reverse of what you just said? Would be neat.
