I did not like Okinawa because the locals hated us (lots of rapes) so we were either just someone to make a buck off or the scum of the earth. Okinawans are a proud people with their own distinct culture and are upset that their mainland government gave up a huge portion of their island to the US military.
I liked Misawa and Amori better, as far as being treated pretty normally.

Unfortunately out here in the rural area, Comcast Business won't service it. But I do get gigabit with 25mp up which isn't great but works fine for fediverse and when I used to sell stuff.

When I was in Japan you paid $45 for a room with karaoke with your buddies, a big meal, and all you can drink. Yes, you heard me right. Pitchers of jack and coke. Watered down of course but whatever.
Another place, cheese noodle, was $4 for a fantastic bowl of salty noodle ramen, great broth.
A 6 pack of grilled stuffed octopus was $3. It's reasonably affordable.
