I went over the assets, and can't really find something that fits the aesthetic I have in my head :/ When I say low-poly I mean something more realistic but lower quality, like PS1 or something. (attached a Pegasus I modeled after the horse from Little Big Adventure)
Also it's a bit early for even place holders. Much of the game will be movement, so it's all about the player controller for a while.
There will be some combat as well, but a small amount. And I want it to be dark, bordering on horror, but not really. Grim.
I have a bunch of projects that I started and abandoned, mostly because I didn't have a vision for where I was going. This time around, I actually know what the destination is, and all I'm missing is enough motivation to actually do it.
@Zerglingman@mushroom_soup I really like perspective shifts, like in Prototype, or Spider-man games, where you walk around people and the leap and zoom around buildings.
So I'm working on a 1st person post-apocalyptic Metroidvania style game, where you play an android or something (might change it to Aryan man, emperor of mankind style ultra-chad just out of spite), and collect powerups as you travel around the map, in order to repair some facility and bring back life to the wasteland.
In terms of aesthetics, I'm going for a low poly (because single dev) post apocalyptic look, with Chrono Trigger's desolate future being the general direction. image.png
@mushroom_soup Seeing stuff like this gives me motivation to keep working on my own game, if for nothing else then for sheer spite towards such cowardice, degeneracy, and nigger worship.
@kilostere Fun fact: women have, on average, roughly a standard deviation less IQ than men, according to the data of the Mensa foundation.
PS: Don't fall for Marxist propaganda, the graphs showing men and women IQ with the same average but different variability, are for preteens, not adult men and women.
In addition, according to the Mensa foundation's stated goal, they're trying to create a "universal human metric", in other words, IQ tests are biased in favor of women, and there's still a 10 points IQ difference between the averages.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating It's pretty much everyone at the moment, at least anyone who can afford it. Not everyone is trying to regulate (read: centralize) it.
On the positive side, open source AI is rapidly outpacing corporate AI. I'm getting slowly white-pilled on AI.
FF14 was so shit they had to remake it from scratch, doubling developing cost. FF15 landed with a thud. Eidos-Montréal was micro managed into decline by Square Enix, to the point they had no choice but to sell all their IP to Embracer Group for peanuts.
The FF7 remake was their only real hit for a while, but what happens when the cash cow dies?
@LukeAlmighty@Kyonko802 No, it's the hu-white supremacy that's causing the increase in cost! Diversity hires get arrested more often, causing a delay in development. Posting bail is also costing Triple-A developers a handsome sum.
