My understanding was that Ocaps on the network level may use any ol' language, but Ocaps on the software level needs either lexical scope or extreme attention to the implementation details of a language's VM (or writing a VM oneself using a systems language). Using Scheme gets @cwebber out of a lot of meetings and probably shaved a decade off development while still doing Ocaps all the way down. Correct me if I'm wrong 🤓😎
