@SDF It may be able to aggregate the posts technically but I am curious about how the personality of each service can be combined.

BlueSky is a Twitter variant. Threads is all algorithm- posts appear out of chronological order. Mastodon is already a cultural mix. Will the experience be confusing?

Just allowed to announce that ‘The Correspondent’ is the featured movie for this year’s Adelaide Film Festival. My third music soundtrack for a Kriv Stenders film. Kind of like Midnight Express but ‘industrial’ 😛 Other festivals in the new year.

@SDF The blurb says it should work but I am not seeing the icon that is supposed to be now on the Threads interface. Probably Error 1 ‘Australia is not worth the trouble’.

@SDF by the way the geoblock apparently has been lifted so I will see if I can be a Guinea Pig for the team. Have to go to Threads and see what has updated. #fediverse

@SDF I’ve been geoblocked from trying this so far no direct experience. But Threads has reciprocal problems to mastodon. Too many voices all yelling into the void. Deaf to conversation.

Here it’s too few voices to build any larger conversation. You can work hard on some fun and it goes out to the desert and dies. Symptoms include seeing 11 posts in a row from one user today!

I’m not exactly sure what would happen. But if the bridge was optional I would turn it on to find out. #fediverse

@MaxCorp @SDF hi Stephen - it’s likely because the service is not yet open to Australian users. Only for US UK and JAP. I’m not sure why maybe it’s still beta.
But in looking there not sure whether Threads is a good Mastodon partner. There are many people on there with all the effects of scale. Could be a culture shock.

I made an account at Threads, which is Instagram's tentacle reaching out to join Mastodon. Instagram is vapid but Mastodon isn't really hitting home runs for me either*. I don't expect anything specific from this experiment - let's just see what comes of it.

Right now the connection isn't working for Australia. I'll just see what life is like on the other side while keeping busy here.

* partly I'm tired of hearing about USA politics. There's 195 countries in the world.

@SDF The movie belongs to MadMan Entertainment, the easiest way to see it here is streaming on Kanopy which is free through the local library. If there are similar services in the USA it might be on them.

Looking around the usual places it seems to have been here and there but has been dropped. I don’t actually have a copy and the director doesn’t even talk about it anymore. #DeadMovie
