The release of Hubzilla 9.4 brings significant improvements to the user interface, some important bug fixes and some general code cleanup. The most notable change is probably the implementation of the Bootstrap icon set, which replaces the abandoned Fork Awesome icon set. Another big change is the redesign of the post item buttons, which greatly reduces the number of buttons visible per item while retaining all the functionality. Hope you like it!
Other notable changes
- Display file attach button in the comment editor if OCAP access is enabled in the privacy settings (off by default)
- Location support for inbound activities
- Fix encoding issue when editing items in wiki, cards and articles apps
For a full list of changes in this release, please see the changelog.
A big THANK YOU! to all the contributors and everyone who supports Hubzilla and its development.

@dansup as mentioned, i am not the one you need to talk to.
I am just observing how things are currently evolving and worried that fedi will end up with a number of incompatble implementations of a imo crucial feature.
-
@dansup from my point of view, implementing a protocol requires a very different skill set than developing a protocol. So no, i do not consider myself a protocol developer.
As you know, comment policy was not part of the original protocol as released in 2018.
Also there is an open space where new protocol enhancements are discussed. You know it: #^https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep
IMO "join my discord/matrix" is not how actually open development should look like.
-
@dansup i am not considering myself a protocol developer. There are people with decades of experience like @Mike Macgirvin 🖥️ or @silverpill who has some great ideas too. Things are usually discussed on fedi or socialhub afaik.
-
@dansup this post did not arise out of aggression. It araised out of desperation.
Great that you work together with GtS! I was not aware of that.
I guess you are aware of this discussion #^https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/fep-5624-per-object-reply-control-policies/2723 and i guess you are also aware of @Mike Macgirvin 🖥️'s recent work on conversation containers #^https://fediversity.site/help/develop/en/Containers
I would have wished for a broad discussion among multiple projects (including a view on their history) instead of "look, here is our implementation". That's all.
-
So it looks like some activitypub projects are finally implementing comment control. Of course each its own and not coordinated with existing implementations
-
@Harald Eilertsen yes... Consider it WIP though...

@_jayrope ah i see... That might have been an imagick issue in this case... Hubzilla is not involved in the inner workings of imagick...
