A rather rare progressive judge said to me, off the record, "Young man, I applaud you for choosing the right law to break. This law does not, in any way, impede public health, safety, or morals. Rather it runs contra to them. I find you not guilty."

@thatguyoverthere @thor The key here is balance. If a proper balance is struck then everyone's needs are met, including the most vulnerable. Too many societies are either hyper-individualistic or hyper-group with precious few recognizing that balance is healthier for all.

@thor It is a good thing I have strong sense of self-control because I actually have a prescription for oxycodone. Since Tylenol and Excedrin do not work for migraines, I need opiates. Thankfully, oxycodone does not make me high. It's weird ... I cannot describe it. All it does is relieve my pain and make me go to sleep. I don't feel dopamine release - at least that I am aware of at any rate.

@thor I honestly don't know. I allow myself one day a month where I am allowed to have a maximum of two light beers. If I don't set strict controls, I'll be in a world of hurt.

@thor Same here! I had some psychological trauma related to trying out a career in project management/server engineer hybrid role. It put me in the mental hospital. I don't handle work stress at all anymore.

@thor I am so sorry that happened, man! I wish that on nobody. If my mom were dying of cancer, I'd be devastated. My mom and I are extremely close. My mom is 77 and in excellent overall health. However, I am concerned that when she passes, I may end up in serious relapse.

@thor Scandinavia is beautiful. I've been there. If I had a choice to live anywhere, I would love to live there. I'd say I'd like to live in Alaska, but I won't be escaping the encroaching fascism of #Amurica.

@thor I think for me, sadly, is that my life is so miserable that any escape from it is welcome. I have a constant mid-grade depression that not even any psych med can really solve. The psych med keeps me out of the hospital.
