It *should* be faster now with new disks in place. Old SSD:

New zfs pool on two SSDs:

>write: IOPS=8135, BW=254MiB/s (267MB/s)(29.8GiB/120003msec); 0 zone resets
It also takes less space thanks to lz4, but it's not like running out of space is a concern for me anytime soon now. -
