@kuba yes! And this one was meant to be my work laptop at some point, so the specs are a total overkill :D

I am so happy that I switched form using my desktop to my laptop as my day to day machine. It's an awesome relatively new Thinkpad, I now have two screens, and I don't feel bad about using a powerful, electricity guzzling gizmo for internet browsing.

@arek it's just that, in my opinion, gnome is more looks than usability, and also it's kinda androidish. I prefer DEs that look like desktops :)

@arek I have Gnome on my work laptop, and that is enough interaction with gnome for me :)

With switching from XFCE to KDE, I also switched from X11 to Wayland, and I can't really put my finger on it, but things seem... smoother? There is something different in the way things render

I'm working on reducing the power consumption of a Raspberry Pi Pico W, and so far I managed to reduce the average power usage from 40mA to 6mA. Blog post incoming!

@arek @pecet I missed being able to install *.deb packages, I had to use AUR for some software and later had conflicts on updates, and once or twice an update totally broke docker and I had to reinstall docker and rebuild all containers, which was a pain, as I was using that laptop also at work during that time.

I finally did it. Switched my laptop distro from Mint XFCE to Debian KDE

@pecet naah, I prefer boring distros that just work

@pecet I used Manjaro for quite some time, but I got tired of it. I just want good old stable boring Debian

This is super funny, Cybertrucks start rusting even in California weather, and the manual says that you should not wash it with hot water or in direct sunlight.

I finally bought a USB meter and the findings so far are:

Raspberry Pi Pico with WiFi on is using 40mA all the time. Now that is a lot.

I could have bought a more precise meter.

I will be now investigating ways to reduce the Pico's power consumption.

TICKLESS, a manufacturer of tick repellent devices says that its entry level device should not be opened, and you should not replace the battery. Instead you should throw the device away after six months and buy a new one.
