@MK2boogaloo On the movie, the acting from Klaus Kinski is good enough because he's playing a crazy man, and he is already a crazy man.

It is a slow movie at the start, but to see such a giant steam ship actually dragged over a small mountain is amazing.

I am not sure of the details from my hazy recollection as to why they were gung ho on that one and opposed to the "big bang theory".

The alleged persecution of Galileo was not because he was pushing Heliocentrism exactly. It was because when he was sponsored by the Pope to study and present both sides of the argument, he did so in paper that presented the Pope as a character named "Simplicito" and basically engaged in Lèse-majesté, which was punishable almost anywhere, on top of insulting the Supreme Pontiff.

At that, he was sentenced to lifetime house arrest and allowed visits, especially by his physician.

Galileo decided to be edgy while the Catholic Church was edgy from political instability. A bad time to do so.

I bring up Galileo because reddit-tier Atheists tell a quarter-truth about it, at best.
