@beardalaxy Yet, he was comfortable talking about it to you guys, but the military might let that slide because people make ridiculous claims like that all the time without evidence or proof.
I have a feeling that it might be militaristic in origin or a secret transportation method for shadow elites that allows them to travel intercontinentally at night without being detected, and the whole "aliens" explanation just being a cover-up for it all. And the reason why they won't allow the public to use it even without disclosing the elites use is because the technology behind it violates a lot of the mainstream understanding of physics and that can destroy the credibility of labs and universities around the world (another reason why modern science is gate-kept).
But there still is the possibility that they are aliens. Going back to what I said about mainstream science, maybe governments won't disclose the existence of alien civilizations because of the cultural impact it will cause globally, including the destruction of the scientific establishment.
Man, there's gotta be a massively untapped market for smaller trucks and a variety of larger cars like wagons. Simple, utilitarian vehicles like Toyota in the 90's. Price them under 50,000, don't have BS massive tech, steal the entire auto industry's lunch.
The more I think about it, the open-source model doesn't really work for video games. Now, I'm not talking about releasing the code (w/o assets) under a FOSS license. I'm talking about developing the game as a community project. It just doesn't work for certain games, namely ones with a story, world, etc. What's the point if those are all public information before the game is released, and anyone is free to contribute to it, potentially ruining your original vision (assuming the non-code part of the game is also part of the community project)? I guess that's why most of the games that have been FOSS day 1 are either multiplayer games, simulation games, or strategy games.
This is especially bad if you view games as an art form that allows the creator to express himself/herself. It's better to work alone or work with a limited number of people who understand your vision. A lot of people are judgemental when it comes to script writing (just talk to anyone who worked with actors) and naturally people will bring their inner activists and demand that they change the direction to fit your views. You should stick to YOUR vision and not cater to some mob on the Internet.
Again, I'm not against people releasing games under a FOSS license. I'm also not against people making forks and under their vision, as long as the original version still exists. I think it's a good idea to just release your code when your game releases and not have it be a community project that everyone can contribute to before release. The "community project" around your game should be built around bug-fixes and porting to other platforms.
@ArdainianRight Biblical education SHOULD be removed from the school system because the school system itself should be removed. School is child abuse by the state. Plain and simple.
@Mr_NutterButter Generation Ships might be worse, unless it's big enough to support an entire biosphere that can somewhat replicate life on Earth. Generations of people will be born in that ship and live their entire lives in a box flying through space where their only purpose is to maintain the ship so that their distant descendants will colonize a far away planet.
With frozen embryos, nobody is born until the ship arrives to the planet. Those children will be raised and be taught by a robot, but at least they will have an entire planet to roam around and subsequent generations will be raised with parents just like normal children. I think the only issue is if the planet turns out not to be habitable and all the children die from radiation poisoning.
But, this goes back to my point. People NEED to put ethics aside. Any new frontier WILL include some pretty nasty deaths. Most people died on the Mayflower. A lot of people died on the Oregon Trail. If we sent a bunch of people to build a base on Mars and they all died from radiation poisoning or something like that, yeah it sucks, but it's the price we pay and we then learn from those mistakes.
I think ethics should only matter if it involves the rest of the human population or the environment, instead of worrying about a few select subjects.
