My current PC, which was an awesome gaming PC way back in 2016 when I built it, isn't compatible with Windows 11, and every day Microsoft give me another reason to celebrate that
Fuck me, "Sword of Vengeance" is a good movie. I love the way Lone Wolf just nonchalantly dispatches about 30 guys at the end then wanderers off down the road with his little baby cart as if it's no big deal.
One down, five to go!
Get paid on Friday, gonna pick up the Akira Kurosawa Blu-ray box set from Amazon I think, I need all the samurai films
Oh this is so good. The looks, the sounds, everything. ATLUS has done it again. Turn based strategy RPGs can be quite slow paced in their gameplay but not here
The soundtrack is brilliant, "Got your tail" the standout so far, that guitar riff :ablobcatattention:
I was a bit apprehensive of the Switch performance but very happy to report that it's absolutely solid and the way the colours pop on the OLED screen :ablobcatheart:
Look, I know I'm biased, and Persona is my favourite series, made by my favourite developer, but Tactica is just amazing
ATLUS polish everything until it's this perfect mirror shine, the only other company on par is Nintendo in that regard, imo. No corners cut anywhere in production
This game reminds me a lot of the Persona Q games, from the chibi art style (which they've evolved here) to each character having a sub-persona
About 5 hours in and it's an easy 10/10 from me, can't stop grinning
Had 8 turns to do it to get the extra reward and I did it in 2 😎 my only criticism so far is even on hard difficulty, once you figure out how to set up triple-threat attacks, it's kinda easy. Still early days, hopefully things will start to get harder as I get further
Still *loving* Tactica, it's starting to get a little trickier and I'm having to think about my moves a bit more. Ashamed to say I had to look up online how to complete one of the optional quests as I hadn't quite grasped how to trigger certain actions necessary to complete the mission
EXP share. All characters level up at the same time, even if they're not in your team. No grinding to level up unused characters, makes trying out different characters and strategies super fun. No EXP share was my biggest bugbear with the PQ games
Being able to assign and unassign skills, allocating skill points isn't a permanent choice
The character art. I loved the PQ games chibi style, and this is even better. Like watching a cartoon
First world clear and boss defeated, the boss fight was excellent. Still not overly difficult, but it's so much fun, and I'm still super impressed how well it runs on Switch, seems flawless
I'm at the stage in Tactica now where I'm spending ages in the Velvet Room fusing personas with optimal skills, trying to make broken ones 😅 your options aren't as expansive as previous games as your personas only have two skills; one innate and one you can inherit via fusion, but you can get some good combinations, like these guys
Ok so I've just finished chapter 2 and I'm feeling quite emotional. As the chapter progressed it became increasingly obvious where the story was going, and the cutscene at the end just hit me like a truck, even though I guessed what was coming
Major story parallels to recent life events for me (if you've been following me for a while you'll know what I'm taking about) 😥 poor Toshiro. Game is fuckin' excellent
I like videogames, comics, music, old movies, and art. Aging nerd, #2000AD, #NintendoDS and #NintendoSwitch collector, #MotoGP fanI like my media physical, and I still buy CDs. Swears a bit sometimesI toot a lot about #Persona and #ShinMegamiTensei especially new additions to my collection. Hee-ho!
