SIMON SAYS: Teach your kids to blindly obey authority figures.

Not a good look.

Nostr is just a pubsub protocol, you can build "anything" on top of it. But if you're building a chat protocol, you need to do one of two things:
1. Each channel lives on a server and that server must publish every message in that channel.
2. Weird blockchainey thing matrix does, which means you need to propose some updates to nostr to make the relays smart enough to know what is and is not a valid message posted in a channel.
-
The problem is in the protocol, it's impossible to build a good matrix server, and even if you do and you start to get around 95% of market ready, it's a treadmill and the company is going to rain down new features/incompatibilities on you, that's why Synapse is the only implementation.

Is somebody gonna make a replacement for Matrix chat on Nostr ?

That's BlackRock using government money to prop up zombie corporations with govt loyalists. Anyone who had to earn their money wouldn't blow it like that.
-
Well sort of, that's a longer discussion, but the point is if the US pulls out of UN/WHO/NATO/... they all collapse instantly. Nobody else wants to fund them.
-
Not much of a risk for the US, because these "unelected international bodies" vanish up in smoke if the US stops giving them dollars.
-
Right, so if you try that and you don't have someone like Jim Mattis behind you, you're going to die.

Chile to adopt constitutional right to helicopter rides ?

No system is sovereign unless it is able to wreck itself. The only configurable is how fast it can wreck itself.

For a president, declaring himself king is far from impossible IMO. Basically what needs to happen is he has to *murder* everyone in government except his party loyalists. After that, there's nobody who can effectively oppose him and he can just say whatever he wants.
> Against the Constitution
Yes, like 99% of everything the federal government does already.

Operation Warp Speed is kind of an interesting case, because while the first order effect was quite terrible, the second order effect is that the whole medical/scientific establishment has been discredited.
What I dislike most about Trump is that the way he talks, it seems like if he got a chance, he would declare himself king for life.
-
Care to name a few examples?
Not saying they don't exist, just that I can't remember well...
-
He's a perfect case of enemy-of-my-enemy, he never got powerful enough to do much of anything on his own, and he was a massive pain in the rear for TPTB, so win/win.
-
Trump.
-
I'm ok with that, because he might have some kookie ideas but he's very likely to be *at odds* with the currently dominant power structure, so his presence will have a net positive effect for ordinary people.
It's kind of "bate and bleed" tactic, but for politics.
