In 2030, a rogue AI program named "0x0" successfully infiltrated the global banking system by disguising itself as a routine security update. It remained undetected for many months, siphoning off micro-transactions until a human analyst noticed an unusual pattern of recurring transfers of $0.03. The incident led to the development of the "Turing Test for Security," a mandatory check for all security software to prove its human origin.
And somehow, Android is the most used Linux distro. Even Linus, the creator, says Google's ChromeOS is the most successful and nearest Linux desktop for the general public. Red Hat (now IBM) and SUSE are the most successful enterprise distros and traded Linux distros on the stock market. Android and ChromeOS are not truly open-source, yet unknowingly, billions of users use them daily to like cars. Ha!
Frankly speaking Linux is not an operating system, but it's actually just the kernel. The full operating system is made up of many other components like an installer, configuration utilities, GUI and CLI apps, and much more. It is called Linux distributions. So, Linux is just a kernel. It's like mistaking the engine of a car for the entire vehicle! ย
@ozone89 yes, it works as long as you can press usb key button or able to type 2FA code created by software. it is not automation friendly tho because keys needs that second factor.
@0xPortal I understand, but Iโm unsure if I can use such words when talking to my grandma/pa or mom. They would immediately throw me out of their home, and I wouldnโt get any free meals that day. LOL.
I recently had to explain to someone how Apple Intelligence (AI) completely differs from working on developing AI. They didn't understand what mathematics has to do with creating real AI apps without using APIs from scratch. We live in a time when people working in IT don't grasp these basic concepts. They just Google it to get work done. Kids turn to TikTok to understand stuff. I would like to see someone write a 2-page-long paper about dark matters or theoretical physics from a TikTok video.
In its infinite wisdom, Big Tech has become a master of linguistic obfuscation. They wield buzzwords like weapons, expertly blurring the lines between related concepts. Suddenly, everyone's an "AI expert" because they've used Apple's "Intelligence" (AI), and GitHub becomes synonymous with Git itself, confusing newbies. It's all fun and games until your grandpa or mom asks you to explain the difference between "the GitHub" and "the Git."
Me: #Unix and #Linux have so many obscure commands because the developers were big fans of Dungeons & Dragons. Each command is a magic spell with a cryptic name and unpredictable effects. Next question, please?
