Many AI companies, including OpenAI, are currently unprofitable. They are taking jobs away from others, leading to a race to the bottom. Eventually, only large tech companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, & Apple, which have deep pockets, will survive this AI race. In the meantime, NVIDIA will be prepared for the next big bullshit with its GPUs, having already made a significant profit. Apart from job loss, I fear as they are pushing LLM into the medical field, innocent people are going to die

In a big, empty room filled with computers, there's an old Sun Solaris server sitting under a desk no one remembers. It has an uptime of over 20 years. Every day, a cron job runs on a forgotten Solaris box, generating critical financial data everyone uses to make retirement investments. Even though no one thinks about this box, everyone needs it & fetches that data using FTP. It works all alone, making sure people can retire comfortably. It's like a secret helper, quietly working in the cold.

@girlintech no. you block root access over the network. then allow ssh via normal user account and then you and sudo or su into root.

You know, they say the only way to write a truly secure app is to create an empty file or repo. But even then, some JabaScript-powered IDE will probably crash trying to open it, and boom! You've got a security vulnerability. 😂

Every time someone claims they've written a "bulletproof" app, I roll my eyes so hard I can practically see my brain. History's not on their side, and in this endless cat-and-mouse game between developers and hackers, it never will be. 😜

Classic Windows apps like Paint and Notepad are also getting LLM (Generative AI) support. There is no reason whatsoever that Notepad should do more than text editing. Microsoft has gone crazy with these tools.
