i was scrolling posts and thought i was looking at Linux commands until i realised it was just a Norwegian ad

hardcore socialists are really walking into the wind. people aren't really put together to function that way naturally, so an artificial structure has to be enforced. which means that most socialists are also authoritarians.

now, is authoritarianism good or bad? it is at least effective.

@jwcph well, currently, El Salvator is effectively a dictatorship, and it's very popular with the people. but i said nothing about the *long term* effectiveness.

also, Iraq was kept stable by a brutal dictator. now it's a nesting ground for terrorist groups like ISIS.

also, "effective" isn't necessarily "good" or desirable.

i'm really happy with all the rich pad sounds i'm getting out of my synthesiser. Logic is only running to check the frequency curve. the synthesiser is completely standalone.

wxWidgets is way easier to incorporate in your C++ project once your project is CMake based just like wxWidgets is.

especially so if it's multi-platform. it's simple enough to install a library and development headers on Linux or macOS, but what does that even mean on Windows?

i used to see a project with CMakeLists.txt files and go "all right, so it's black magic"

it's more high-level in reality though. instead of passing linker flags, you're telling CMake to use your compiler toolchain to do stuff like "include everything needed for library X and enable these compile flags for it"
