I blame hack fraud japanese writers and evangelion for doing this creatively bankrupt soft reboot shit.
The real problem with FF7 is that it isn't a "normie" game. Back in the day FF games were highly anticipated from the average gamer. Now to get into FF7 remake you need to invest in a multiple part remake which is the most unnormie shit ever, it demands people willing to invest time into it and the original FF7 AND be willing to wait several years for the next installment.
The moment that killed the FF7 momentum was when the first game ended and it became painfully obvious this was gonna be a 10 part remake series. The average player in the back of their mind are gonna be thinking "oh next game will be kalm through gold saucer shit we're not gonna get to the 2nd disc in at least 3 more parts WTF."
In the original game midgar was the way the story gripped the player. The vibe of midgar was so entirely different from previous games and other RPGs. When midgar ended the game opened up and we were given a clear focus and mission. It didn't matter that other towns weren't as interesting, we didn't have to wait years to move to the next town and each town gets their own story arcs that develop the world of FF7. What are the hooks in the story for each part of the remakes? Remake is dead in the water and may be fucked. :back_from_gab:

I've never gotten into this subject before but I can explain why JP talents tend to be viewed more positively than EN.
The main thing about the JPs is that all of them can maintain a certain level of professionalism even though it's just "anime woman talking". They may have not had real idol training but pretty much all of them will pick it up when they need to. ENs will usually not have this mindset nor the training so that's why they're perceived as being different. To be clear though you don't need to be an idol for this but the mindset plays into how well vtubers are perceived.
The reason why Marine is so well liked and successful despite being a million year old boomer is not because she excels at one thing. She is good at a lot of different things, puts her money into things that will play well, and plays up sex appeal as a strength. She puts every talent she has to work and it's very successful for her. I remember hearing recently that she's also popular with teens as well if you can believe it, this boomer popular with teens.
If you compare Kronii to Marine we get into a coughing baby to a hydrogen bomb scenario. Kronii doesn't have a single talent she plays up at all and every meme and positive aspect of her character she destroys. People like Kronii are exactly why people shit on EN vtubers. :back_from_gab:
