@timnitGebru it makes me so furious that *hospitals*, of all places, have stopped requiring masks. Like, as a high-risk person myself (still dealing with the aftermath of my first COVID infection back in March), I’m upset about every indoor place that’s stopped requiring them, but a freaking HOSPITAL?? Like, why would masks EVER not make sense in a hospital setting? I’m so, so sorry for your family member, and I hope they come out of this ok.
We learned today that this kitty probably has lymphoma; they’re going to confirm with a pathologist but it won’t really make a difference, because at age 18 we wouldn’t put him through any kind of intensive treatment. Just gonna keep him comfy and loved as long as we can.
Cancer sucks. We lost an incredible human yesterday. Stacey was a dear “pocket friend”, part of my early circle of internet knitters, who I came to know as a force of nature: so kind, so fierce, so thoughtful, so determined, so strong, so open. I’m so glad to have known her, and so heartbroken for her sons and her spouse and everyone who loves her.
