The 86 has a sticker on the passenger-side window that says “my car's slow.”

I get it. It's a naturally-aspirated four-banger and won't be walking past Bimmers & Porsches, but come on. That's not what this car was ever supposed to be — it doesn't have a billion HP/torque.

I feel like the Overton Window of what's considered to be fast or slow is silly at this point. The 86 is not a 🤓sLoW🤓 car IMO.

It's what you're used to, to some extent. I'd bet the average driver isn't used to a billion HP.

I’ll add another ND2 data point for you. I usually drive “spiritedly” and I always avoid lugging the engine. I’m not afraid of RPMs — I usually shift out of first around 4k or so and I heel-toe pretty much all the time.

I’ve always been impressed by the numbers this car returns. I even get pretty good mileage with the AC turned on.

My dad & step-mom are on a trip in France and I just got this message from pops:

“This our little Fiat 500. It’s a 6-speed manual transmission hybrid. The “streets” in this village are about 12” wider than the car with stone walls on both sides! It’s the first time I’ve driven a stick shift in almost 30 years! We both are doing fine with smooth shifts and no stalls.”

So proud of them :’)

Finally back home after a grueling drive from Jersey to Long Island. Today was a straight-up blast and it's all thanks to @murph !

The rally was much trickier than my buddy and I imagined. We got tripped up a couple times and racked up pretty big penalties, but we still left with awards. Second place in the first-timers’ category ain't so bad. We were somewhere in the middle of overall placements.
