@aral I think I ended up having to go with Wezterm instead; I think Zellij was having some challenges dealing with constantly being resized on my i3-based desktop. But it's otherwise a very powerful package.
On a broader note, modern Sixel is really so amazing I keep imagining a "smol personal computer" that basically powers a Sixel terminal.

@aral If memory serves, Zellij also supports Sixel, which I find to be a grossly underrated technology.
