@xianc78@graf normally an admin would have power over the entire site, as they're usually the one hosting it. It's not just moderation, it's things like changing the site itself. They are also the ones with the final say so things like appeals would typically go through them. On forums at least, there are global mods and section mods who can do what you described just in their respective areas.
I wouldn't jump to forums quite yet, I'd just stick with comments on the game page for now.
@xianc78 literally, the dude got so mad that people leaked emissary online that it's why he never wanted to do another smash story. I think he is typically a great game dev but holy shit he gets a stick up his ass whenever someone interacts with his work the "improper way." just look at brawl tripping...
Although, this mindset of Sakurai's at least freed us from the hell that was smash 4 Bayonetta in ultimate. Too bad we just got Steve instead and he'll never be fixed.
So many Nintendo devs are infuriating man. They're geniuses, but they all have some weird hang up on something. Miyamoto needs to shove gimmicks in everything. Sakurai holds weird grudges. Itoi thinks he reached perfection and doesn't want to do anything else. Aonuma thinks people only like old games more because of Nostalgia.
@xianc78 I got a little bit into game collecting, mainly N64, a while ago. But yeah I realized that I just do not play any of it and it's not cool to hoard stuff like that if I'm not gonna use it, imo. Digital collections even got to be like that for me. Sure, I have every NES-N64 game on that little emulation box but am I ever going to play them? Nah. I realized I spent a lot of time, mostly, working on building these collections and making them presentable and stuff only for them to gather dust while I continue to play the same games over and over again anyway.
I don't really believe in New Year's Resolutions but it's close enough to make one and implement it now I guess. I'm going to try my best to refrain from political posting in the future. The most you'll see from me are shitposts. I'm going to pin this to hold myself to it as well!
At the end of the day, if I know anything it's that I know nothing. Posting anything about my politics here is of little value beyond a few likes and boosts.
I'm not going to go into politics and I don't really want that to be my legacy. I want to make games that everyone can truly enjoy, that don't have any agendas, hidden or otherwise. I'd rather not be a highly controversial figure on that front. Essentially it's the equivalent of "I just want to grill." I want to be known more for the stuff I make instead of whatever weird political flavor anyone wants to pin on me, or that I inadvertently pin on myself.
A lot of this stuff also gets me pretty on edge and I misplace a lot of passion where I shouldn't. My mood disorder doesn't help with that either. At my core I'm honestly not a very hateful guy but I can get fired up and sometimes I say things I either don't mean or things that can get misconstrued (especially over the internet). I think the best way to improve for myself is to just refrain. Abstinence is best, or whatever.
I wanna' talk about games and game dev, music, that sort of shit instead. Part of why I've been thinking about this is just thinking back to the old internet before politics was really cared about at all and nobody even mentioned it because the internet was supposed to be an escape from real life, not something that would stress your real life out more. You go to a family reunion and hear your parents talk about political shit and you want to just go back to the net to talk to people about RuneScape and Zelda, you know? Back when the worst thing someone could do online was like, be annoying.
So yeah, anyway, no more politics for me. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year xD
@histoire when it is overblown it bothers me, unless it is for a specific effect like drunkenness or something. your eyes do have depth of field though, that one isn't *just* about cinematics like lens flare is. not as heavy as it is in games, but you're also sitting in front of a screen with a much smaller FOV than your real life eyes. so DOF can make sense to compensate for that in some areas or even to be used to subtly guide the player to the main subject. i've noticed though that DOF often gets used more in cutscenes so i typically don't have an issue with it.
i can understand lens flare more in a third person game but i still think it is super distracting. it makes 0 sense in first person because we're meant to be looking through someone's eyes... if you have lens flare in your real eyes you should probably get that checked.
@ShtPoastAnon@matrix honestly yeah, i took one look at this and was like... i already have the original. the servers still work (idk if they do after this launch or not tbh). you can mod it to hell and back. why the fuck would i ever buy this shit?
and yeah, totally vindicated. i'd say "i can't believe they fucked up this bad" but i'm not surprised in the slightest. they don't even have crossplay.... apparently, for asajj and kit fisto they used a mod, but an OLD VERSION of the mod.
hey, at least the original versions are still available to buy if you're on PC. which you should, they are fantastic games. honestly just get BF2 and mod all the BF1 maps in.
