the entire decade-long era of the "xbox 360 generation" of games are so visually unappealing to me, personally. but what's interesting about this, is that it's not a hindsight thing where they look dated nowadays: even at the time i noticed that games had taken a nosedive in aesthetics, and i ended up not buying any new games or consoles for almost a decade purely due to everything being in a style that i found so off-putting

browsers used to let you access ftp servers. it was a thing you could count on that was useful sometimes, but at some point, it just went away. for example, chrome got rid of it a few years ago probably, which kinda sucks. anyway i thought "i bet firefox still has that, they're the Good one" so i opened firefox, and nope! not only did they also remove their ftp functionality too but the fucking "Recommended by Pocket" spam had reappeared since i last used the browser. cmon it's just embarrassing

the future of browsers is you can use any browser you like, so long as it includes a special quirksmode clientside polyfill plugin addon extension that handily detects whether the current site is chrome-only, and if so, boots a sandboxed chrome running in webassembly into the current tab and reloads the page inside that instead

the aggravating thing about firefox isn't it being less successful or less financially viable or less technically advanced compared to its competitors or whatever. its the weird, unforced errors. inexplicable, unless google handed a couple of firefox devs a bitcoin or two and a copy of the CIA's Simple Sabotage Field Manual (1944)
