Injuries I’ve sustained this month:
1. Ripped cornea
2. Kneecap bone bruise
3. Bruised palms
4. Sprained wrist
5. Broken arm
6. Broken tooth
The Universe is really taking me for a ride, but I’m in good spirits. I’m whining a lot, though. 😂

@aral I will never forget a pivotal moment during my visit to Auschwitz. I asked about these large pools of water I noticed. They were water supplies for firefighters, installed to comply with their insurance policy. They literally had a general insurance policy that was required to “operate a business.” That’s how normalized the genocide was.
The situation itself, that a white man who hailed himself a great ally was privately a bigoted racist, is not a surprise. That happens a lot. But it’s repugnant when someone thinks their publicly-exposed “private” comments exonerate them from their wrong doing.
“Unfortunately…comments which I never intended to share publicly have come to light.”
But you said them. That’s who you are. Publicly or privately.

NPR’s data shows that they lost nothing after being ostracized by the psychotic white billionaire. It counters the idea that leaving Twitter is a loss. Let’s dismiss the idea that we need to be held hostage on any platform.
Of course Levar Burton wants you to read banned books. Heven Haile sits down with Levar and MoveOn’s Rahna Epting to talk about it.
“When I read Fahrenheit 451 for the first time,” LeVar Burton says, “I couldn’t imagine that situation in my reality. It was a shame, right? Wow. Those poor people in that misguided society. I live in that society now. That dystopian story has become my truth.”

Actual reality is wild. It feels like you’re really there. Because you are.

Every hashtag on every post on every platform should ALWAYS be camel case. I made this to illustrate how screenreaders read hashtags depending on whether they are lowercase or camel case.
It’s a small thing that all of us can do to build a more inclusive, accessible internet for all. Please take the time to use camel case.

White friends. Please don’t spend the month of February quoting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Instead, spend the month learning about systemic racism and taking action towards a more equitable future for Black folks.
You can begin with this rich essay that accompanies a repository of policy-based recommendations:

Or read this report on inequity in the workplace:
