I heard the word “propaganda” used as a neutral term for TV advertising in a Spanish speaking country. Don’t remember which one.
Most media live by advertising, and the ones that are “free” are paid for by someone pushing his own interests. And yeah, they tend to copy each other unfortunately very uncritically.

(I think it’s just very hard to figure out what really happened, and so is the job of a honest journalist. Also, free information has to be paid for somehow. )
