If she had no insurance she'd be using the NHS. From the insurance company's pov they are saving money. You can think of these in separate buckets rather than joining them. Also, interesting idea I heard (from my feed probably) cancer could be parasites and a course of ivermectin could sort it out. Even if wrong, there's no cost in testing it.

It's the joining of two separate things in your head. If someone buys a phone with money that the government has given them as a benefit, it's a similar thing. You join them together in your head but they are separate things. One is the government giving a benefit (at the cost of the tax payer) the other is a personal decision by an individual about where to put their money.
