    Umm... "Secure" is a relative/fuzzy term though.
    To be clear, Electron phones home to Google and Electron is a Chromium web app.

    It probably is still okay to use because it does require no phone number etc, as long as you block the google stuff in host files, and run it in some kind of containers. I just think we shouldn't endorse the use of Electron, and if we care, we should pressure them to develop a real native client.

    Nice.

    You can ask people directly if there is something that you can't find online or you don't know how to find. Though, GNU Social's DM system/Message does not seem to be reliable.

    Wireshark is also your good friend. Most of the time it is enough by filtering DNS requests (assume the programs that you suspect make DNS requests).

    The people that care about privacy, even among *nix users, are only a minority. I think I'm gonna write a rant on this soon...

    If you don't use JavaScript you don't need to worry about HTML security (almost?) at all.

    You will get used to Linux the more you use it, so you shouldn't worry too much about it. It can take some time though.

    Binaryは有料だけど、パッケージマネージャから入手できますよ。ardourのコンパイルも随分昔ですがうまく行ったようです。
