Oh my… there I am looking into replacing my use of mkcert for localhost certificates in Kitten (https://codeberg.org/kitten/app) with a native JavaScript solution (no external binaries, etc., which are a real pain) and I’m looking into using node-forge and I stumble on this module that already does the hard work and so I look into who made it and it‘s by guess who…

Have the #V8 (or #SpiderMonkey for that matter) devs started caring about any use other than the browser yet, or are the #NodeJS devs still spending most of their time fixing breakage caused by V8 API changes?

Alternatively, is there a #Javascript implementation with performance comparable to V8 or SpiderMonkey that is targeted at applications other than the browser?

If you’re using Polka (a lightweight Express alternative for Node.js), you might be surprised to find out (as I was) that it doesn’t support unicode in URIs.

Until this is fixed properly in Polka, you can implement the simple workaround I just posted here:
