As I drew her out of her shell, she’s gotten less self-conscious, though she still has those “problem areas”. She often wears some kind of hosiery because she’s always embarrassed that you can see the veins in her legs - I think her mom complained about her own “varicose veins” a lot and seeded it in her mind that if you can see blue anywhere then it’s the ugliest thing.
I often watch warily, expecting the act to fall at some point like so many other girls have. I’ve had exes that kept it up flawlessly with me, only to let the façade fall w/ my family when I’m not around. I don’t quite know what to worry about other than her getting fat and lazy, though. She’s not headstrong at all, she’s like a kid - she just wants me to take the helm and give her a nice, happy, safe home to nest in and she’ll do whatever I tell her (provided I don’t abuse that command privilege, of course)
I guess the only thing I may worry about is a new power dynamic if we have a son, and she loves him more than me, and then they become their own power block in the family politik? That’s a long ways off though.
