Where I live (in a town, bleh) we are allowed 6 backyard chickens but it requires a license (tax) per head per YEAR ($50 each) and the local “authority“ comes onto your property annually to inspect. They basically want to see cute store bought coops that look more like doll houses than chicken houses. Anything that is ugly but functional comes with a $250 fine and loss of license which means they also take your birds.
Pretty sure that would have me irl fedposting within the year. So now I’m planning to just move to the sticks.
