@RoyalJohnny242 @hourmutt There's supposedly a currently active German colony on New Swabia called New Berlin, it's in a bubble in the ice on the continental shelf and can only be accessed via submarine. Antarctica has the most active volcanoes on land out of any continent so there are a few ice free temperate areas there. The Germans staffed the base with Ukranian warbrides and submarine crews. You can still see the airstrip for an abandoned nearby colony base above ground on archived Google Earth pages from prior to 2014 when they censored it out.

Russian PMCs supposedly made contact with New Berlin a few years ago and gave them religious artifacts for safekeeping.

In 2015 there were some explosions when Saudi contractors were attempting to expand the mosque at Mecca. A few hundred people died in a stampede. It happened again a few months later when they resumed digging. What had happened was that they disturbed the Ark of Gabriel, which holds the first copy of the Koran as dictated to Mohammad by angels. The Saudis wanted to move the Ark for safety, but the only people who would take any payment to mess with it were these Russians. They contacted the Vatican to get the prayers they needed to remove the Ark without injury, and they used an old submarine to move it down to the base. When they returned to Russia, they reported seeing old flying saucers in the aircraft hangar there and getting to tour the cockpits.
