@issdeinschnitzel@Hyolobrika@mrsaturday this is interesting. Musk said it's false because the guy wasn't even there, he was on leave. That is an objective statement that should be provable. The place that wrote the article didn't back anything up they just said "we stand by our reporting". Weak, but I guess we'll find out the truth eventually.
@Moon@Hyolobrika@issdeinschnitzel@mrsaturday much of the news about twitter just seems made up to me. Nearly all of only really makes sense if you believe that musk is somehow an incompetent idiot who's also a big baby, which I just don't see. Now it doesn't mean that everything he does is smart or good, but the idea that he's super busy all day trying to make twitter give him a higher number than biden seems like something straight from r/antiwork (or fedi, for that matter)
@lain@Hyolobrika@issdeinschnitzel@mrsaturday I was 100% in this camp but I have wavered a bit when people were freaking out about Mastodon links getting banned. I poo-pooed it because that had happened even in the gnu social days, twitter just thought they were spam sometimes, people freaked out at twitter, then twitter unblocked the servers and apologized. Then it turned out Twitter really was blocking links to Mastodon servers, they even put it in their ToS for a while. It felt exceptionally stupid and petty and it changed my perception a little.
@Moon@Hyolobrika@issdeinschnitzel@mrsaturday yeah i think that was stupid, too. I guess I'll just not comment on it at all, nobody really knows what's going on inside, and that you get negative press after laying of 3000 san francisco developers is not surprising.
@Moon@lain the challenge I face on this is that there's this powerful torrent of FUD and haters that will jump on and inflate every piece of bad press about Twitter and Elon, including just making stuff up, to attempt to bring everybody down the river.
So when something comes up that i have an issue with or call out these people crawl out of the woodwork tryin' to be my friend and then get really mad when I turn down their kool aid
@lain@Hyolobrika@issdeinschnitzel@mrsaturday I'm sorry, I basically agree with you, that one thing just planned a seed of doubt. I know what you're talking about, the 2FA thing is a perfect example of it. at first glance it sounds ridiculous and stupid, so it just reinforces all the other things that sound ridiculous and stupid, but that thing like almost all the other things, break down when you look at them closer. but if you never look closer then it feels like it's constantly being confirmed he's just a giant idiot
