   If Apple integrates AI technology from OpenAI or Google, it could pose a privacy nightmare. I truly hope Apple includes simple toggle options to disable these AI features. I don't want OpenAI accessing my personal data; they are not trustworthy. I want a simple phone that does calls, texts, and a few apps. I have zero use for shity openai llm. I don’t wish to have AI on my phone. Please keep these fancy features as an option. Please don’t force them like Microsoft.

     your wish is based on that apple is somehow trustful. apple is not trustworthy or privacy friendly. apple is worse than others in some way.

     is it time to ditch apple products !

     There are 4 relevant criteria:

     1. Scree size
     2. Supported by lineageOS microg
     3. Tutorial for battery replacement on ifixit
     4. Price

     Budget determines features like OLED display, large battery, camera, ...

     After finding a model that checks these boxes, buy a used one (backmarket, ebay, ...). Then (important): Fuck google and fuck apple with their dystopian lock-in ecosystem and never buy their incompatible, unrepairable, anti-free bullshit ever again.
