     Was a shithole, well it is now, but that isn't the point here.
     
     Its tanks were rust buckets considered heavily inferior to monkey model Soviet tanks. Like their Asad Babil tank.
     
     They were heavily funded by Reagan to stick it to the Iranians that during that long forgotten war known as the Iran-Iraq War. And failed to defeat Iran, and needed chemical weapons from America and Germany to stop the Iranians.
     
     Iraq was a controlled variable kind of nation since as Bill Hicks said, all Uncle Sam needed to do, was check the receipt over what was sold to them.
     
     Which is why Iraq was destroyed so hard in the Gulf War.
     
     Unlike Iran, that makes its own stuff. And would be suicidal for Uncle Sam to invade since Uncle Sam has no idea what else Iran is packing.
