   Like I keep saying, I can solve this problem overnight: Require game companies with a player base over x million / month to provide a public, unauthenticated API that accepts a player name and returns government ID including name and address.

   People will stop talking shit super quick when it's possible to hold them accountable.

   Toxicity solved, overnight. I guarantee it.

     Let's also solve game preservation:

     Require game companies with live service games with player counts over x million / month to submit to a designated agency/nonprofit, a copy of the game client and server daemon source code, on a quarterly basis.

     The agency must be able to compile both and run them on an airgapped network. The agency will not release the source until the game company goes under or otherwise stops supporting the live service.
