I think the reason a lot of people accept slop and fanservice-focused media (myself included, admittedly) is because most all story analysis content is incredibly gay. media literacy is a real thing and it got co-opted so fast because faggot video-essayists are the biggest sources of entertainment critique out there. that needs to change, or at least an alternative should exist.
