     @wgiwf @WashedOutGundamPilot @EdBoatConnoisseur @WaifuPoaster88 This is only slightly related, but I've read a few stories attempting a "realistic" medieval setting, and I find they often feel like the author fellating the modern day to an absurd degree. The most absurd example of this I've seen has to be when 90% of the society couldn't comprehend the concept of 1+1=2 because they weren't formally taught math.
     I would take romanticized fantasy any day of the week over an "accurate" depiction based on the work of hatred-fueled troglodytes.

Mark Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" a book that ages poorly in this regard).
     It less about tech a more a about depicting everyone as a modern thinking man who would support liberal values if they just had the right instruction.
