“Even if it’s better than third-party cookies, the Privacy Sandbox is still tracking. It’s just done by the company that makes your browser instead of the company that runs the ads,” EFF’s @Thorin told the @WSJ. https://www.wsj.com/tech/google-cookies-replacement-not-enough-to-protect-uk-consumer-privacy-580d1b16

Jeremy (activeruser@mastodon.social)'s status on Saturday, 20-Apr-2024 12:44:55 JST Jeremy @eff @Thorin @WSJ I think privacy sandbox is worse than third party cookies for following reasons:-
1. we had ways to circumvent cookies
2. websites had options to use other third parties for tracking. But the Privacy sandbox makes Google the sole owner of behaviour tracking, which is monopoly over chrome behaviour tracking. Also it can't be easily circumvented.
