     @givenup @MeBigbrain Women rely on networking with the sisterhood in order to have confidence in their judgements. If you separate her from the web of culture, society, community, team, tribe, clan, whatever group she pegs her judgement to: She won't have the self-confidence to know she's making the right choice.

     In dating, you see it when girls ignore a guy until he lands a gf, or they ogle a man with a wedding ring. Girls look at those and know that another girl found him desirable enough to CHOOSE, so they feel that he MUST meet some standard of quality.

     The men's version can be seen as: "If it's such a nice car, why's it still for sale after 8 months on the market?"

     @suquili @givenup @WashedOutGundamPilot Even the job interview is like a date, the expectation is on you to bend over backwards to woo them and they still get final say in the end (which they won't even tell you directly, they'll just say the date went well and then stop contacting you).

     actually for a cocky woman it's a challenge, a trophy to steal a man away from a lesser woman. It's part of why some are so jealous and wary of their guy being around other girls.

     Girls love being able to say they were the only fair maiden to have charmed the beast, even in such a degraded form

I drove 30 minutes to get there, said I was willing to work full-time and overtime, I have one job on my resumé that lasted less than a year. She closes the interview by telling me they weren't looking for "gig workers" and wanted someone who would be dedicated to working there. It was in a way that wasn't accusatory, just seemed to come out of nowhere. I didn't push it, the rest of the employees were brown and I decided I was better off.

     Most of this can be discerned in about 10 minutes.
     Everything else they do, assuming it's in good faith, is just over-optimization.

     @LordOfTheKangs @WashedOutGundamPilot I get job alerts every day and it's always the same 5 companies. And the "promoted" jobs got horrendous in the last year. I can't search jobs anymore. Literally the first two pages are all promoted jobs, most of which are info-collecting scams.
