cool_boy_mew (coolboymew@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:01:31 JST cool_boy_mew I'm really liking this version of KDE, very comfy. For a brief moment I got quite giddy at the amount of widget and customizable stuff, felt a bit exciting like it was back then
I was first made at the Application Menu, but it turns out you have choices of two by default, and I replaced the pins in it by taskbar pins anyways
Also impressively, you can place the running programs in whatever order you wish
But I wish someone would make a Whomp comic plugin for the comic widget
Also that Yakuake terminal is interesting, an always on terminal that comes out of the top-

XFCE terminal by default has a drop-down mode enabled by default.
kde on nobara was enough to get me to stop bearing with windows on my laptop, as Linux behaves much better.cool_boy_mew likes this. -

I prefer just simply F4 for Yakuake -

In fact I think I did use one back in ~2012.cool_boy_mew likes this. -
cool_boy_mew (coolboymew@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:12:08 JST cool_boy_mew @lanodan it's good enough for occasional use on top of it hiding itself. So I can just start converting shit with ffmpeg and have it hide itself -

Corfiot (corfiot@pleroma.elementality.org)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:20:39 JST Corfiot which version is it .26 or .27?
i'm waiting for .27 to hit distros cause of its multi=monitor fixes -
just an actual husbear :verified: (guizzy@pleroma.guizzyordi.info)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:20:45 JST just an actual husbear :verified: @coolboymew I like KDE. I used to hate it a long time ago because it used to feel like it was perpetually stuck in "edit" mode and never looked clean in usage, but now I consider this has been resolved and the interface is clean, simple and customizable, with sane defaults. cool_boy_mew likes this. -
cool_boy_mew (coolboymew@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:22:14 JST cool_boy_mew @guizzy It's very much quite nice
On my old install, I had grabbed MX XFCE and it was very meh, it seemed like half a DE. Very nice for quiet working, but it didn't seem like a full fledged OS. I just installed KDE vanilla and just that was nice enough
But the MX latest MX KDE edition knock it off the park -
Paulo (paulo@marsey.moe)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 23:28:08 JST Paulo @corfiot @coolboymew it says right there, plasma 5.20
.27 hit artix
it completely broke plasma
luckily it was just a wrong dependency (basically some packages were for .26 and some for .27) that made plasma not startup but x11 was still working so i could still easily open a terminal and downgrade the broken packagecool_boy_mew likes this. -
