     @transgrammaractivist @BullSchmitt @weaf the problem tends ot stem from the fact we're 200+ years after hte war, and they keep pretending like civilization isn't coming back and doing stuff, by game 2, the ncr was forming and that's about 150 or so years after the war, by new vegas 204 years after the war, it's a giant nationstate

     1) they were distributed by water barons who pegged them to water
     2) they were hard to counterfeit and devalue
     But in Bethesda fallout they're just le wacky currency

     I dont believe the NCR has fallen. The Political center is destroyed, but they still had the Hub and a multitude of other cities likely. At the end of the series shady Sands seemed like it would be ok.
