@CatLord @Shadowman311 I feel like reddit is a very dangerous place. It really, REALLY, accentuates hivemind mentality with it's 'subreddits'.
I was once linked to a sub reddit on banning pit bulls, and found there's like a few dozen subreddits about banning pit bulls or killing dogs etc that are all hyper fixated on a certain portion of the subject. This sub is about hating pit bulls, this sub is about why you hate pit bulls, this sub is about hating pit bull owners, this sub is about making memes about people who don't like killing pit bulls but also don't own pit bulls.
That would be good for like, a blog. Not a community. The echo chambers are deafening as a result and creates a huge us vs them mentality. People get this false sense of reality.
And I thought fedi was bad with that lol I think reddit takes the cake. Even tumblr at least they have tags to force interactions outside the hivemind.
