   My roommate's PC has started throwing Machine Check Exceptions when I try to boot Linux. Like, it thinks an entire CORE is dead.
   That's... Impressively broken! I'm not even sure how you'd break a system this badly, even if her cooling system has totally failed (cpus aren't supposed to idle at 85°C, right?)

     Don't use your computers where you smoke. If you do, clean them more regularly.
