     @nixCraft The first computer I probably used was an XP and so I would say at least 300 to 500 MBs.

     @nixCraft If I recall correctly, 2GB.

     It amazes me that it was enough for nearly everything at that time given the current resource black holes known as electron-based programs that use that amount on average.
