I wonder if anyone has made a USB PC speaker.
It'd be one of those 2-3" speakers, only bleeps, and it comes inside a reverberant metal box

and you could wire it into like DOSBox and VMWare/VirtualBox and similar apps
ingredients:
* 8051 (for usb)
* 2-3" speaker
* 555 chip
* some resistors and capacitors
* metal box

@foone I have a USB-ISA bridge around somewhere that can theoretically do that (but it needs proprietary drivers for an obsolete kernel that are download restricted by a serial number I don't have)... Let's build a whole old PC out of USB! Like one of those flight simulator cockpits!
@indigoparadox oh interesting, which one is that? I've played with one but it didn't have an serial nonsense
@indigoparadox ahh, k
@foone Pretty sure it was that one, maybe. By Arstech.
Looks like it wasn't a serial, just a download link I didn't have... I found the downloads (including special DOSBox) in a Vogons thread after looking again... Software last updated in 2013. 😌

And software: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=76234
