     @judgedread I thought he was purged by Harvard because he lost them enormous amounts of money by investing their endowment poorly.

     @WhiteAmericanEskimo I'd have to look up the timing. He absolutely was in the doghouse over comments about women in science.
     
     Also back then they would come up with a non-political pretext when they kicked a big jew, so that could be the explanation.
