Never actually played it back during my GameCube days, was Tales of Symphonia always overrated, or are game journos niggerfaggots who don't appreciate good JRPGs?
-
@Dozu @ChristiJunior it's hard to say by now. It's one of the rare JRPG the GC had and probably my first Tales
I liked it tho', but I imagine Vesperia will be better
-
@ChristiJunior I remember a lot of tales fans said it was overrated back in the day. But it was also babby's first tales game for a lot of people (me).

@coolboymew @Dozu @ChristiJunior tales of symphonia was my first foray into the series too. I have a bit of nostalgia for the game because back then I owned a gamecube and it was one of the few JRPG's for the system.
The re-releases suck because they're locked at 30FPS and they have their own bugs. Namco/Bandai is being lazy and just re-using the PS2 port because it had extra content the cube version didn't have because of the mini disc limitations. They could've used the cubes source code and ported the ps2 assets and extras if they wanted to and we would've gotten the definitive version of the game.

@ooignignoktoo @ChristiJunior @Dozu I have the Wii sequel to ToS, I still need to play it. It's absolutely terrible apparently

Wasn't that basically how Capcom handled Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition? Combining the superior graphics of the GameCube version with the extra content of the PS2?
Oh, and adding Wiimote aiming that actually worked extremely well.

@ChristiJunior @Dozu @coolboymew I skipped the Wii re-release because I had played the hell out of it on GameCube and wasn't interested in wagglin and went for the HD xbox 360 port at the time. I got the fixed HD port on PC as well and not the awful Ubisoft port which is considered one of the worst pc ports of all time.
