@arstechnica I still don't understand why they don't just run a SoC to control the chip like AMD does. Intel has the knowhow and even already basically has the means in-house. This also would have had the advantage of being able to make Raptor Lake on up universally compatible (since the SoC could control whether the economy cores get used instead of relying on software control.)
I feel like a lot of issues like this could be solved that way potentially.
