     @coolboymew lasagna is such a weird food for a cat to like - it's full of wheat and tomatoes and cats are obligate carnivores

     Like Garfield, Davis is a fan of lasagne. “Yeah, I love lasagne. I thought it would be funny to have a cat who likes lasagne but as it turns out, I hear from people all the time that their cats love lasagne.”

     cats will eat lots of things even if it’s not good for them, they aren’t the smartest animals all things considered

     @coolboymew having watched a documentary about Jim Davis, his answer would probably be a goofy joke

     the documentary had a bit where the creative process was demonstrated and they basically did this shtick where they acted like idiots.

     @coolboymew he doesn't take himself very seriously at all - and if you look into the early history of Garfield, he was originally drawing a comic strip with characters that looked like humanoid ants and such and the publishers didn't believe in it, so he went back to the drawing board to "create a more marketable character" - he runs a business and he's not ashamed of it

     @coolboymew the way he works these days is that he draws a rough sketch of the comic and his army of assistants finish the job

     @coolboymew but he seems to understand what real art is because he expressed admiration for Garfield Without Garfield and i believe he even worked with its creator to release it officially

     @coolboymew @thor I had a cat that was super into pasta. If you let her sneak up on you or left it unattended she’d eat it all- the sauce, the pasta, meatballs, the filling if it was like ravioli or something
