   Today is release day for 「トランスジェンダーになりたい少女たち」, the JP release of "Irreversible Damage". After going to two branches of a major bookstore, and one smaller local one, I was told that they didn't carry the book. In the major chain's case, I only had the say half the name or just show the image of the cover to get an answer... the staff were clearly aware of the book, and were ready for the inquiry to deny it so quickly.

   I'm inclined to believe this is driven by fear, given the arson threats, but I have to admit this is speculation. Tomorrow there's some other bookstores in the city center I'm going to try, but I may have to resort to buying it online if that comes up dry. Further report on this will be submitted tomorrow.

     @billiam @DarkMahesvara There may be English and Spanish, but this is the Japanese translation we're talking about.

     And this is, as far as I know, the only critical book on the topic to even exist in Japan. I'll take an imperfect book on the topic over no books at all. If those other books are better, I'd encourage somebody to look into getting them translated into Japanese. I'd be happy to promote them if they were.

     be aware: the author is jewish. She does mention the israeli / jewish connection to transgenderism and the (very profitable) industry which supplies the medical treatments.
