Princess Peach Showtime is a brilliant game because it understands that 7-year-old girls like dressing up and looking cute, and don't care as much about sophisticated or deep mechanics or difficulty.

@ArdainianRight I do wish the Peach game at least had Kirby-level depth and universal appeal, because the amount of gameplay variety promised and the visual eye candy on display could potentially have made it a very appealing game for kids AND adults. That said, a part of me does appreciate Nintendo's implicitly revealing that they really don't think very highly of girl gamers.

@ChristiJunior Based on personal experience, the game seems to be pretty well-balanced for girl gamers. I can believe that it was extensively playtested and balanced around said demographic.

That's great to hear. More games need to be made with children in mind IMO. Everything that should be for kids nowadays has been coopted by manchild millennials and eventually gets turned into "muh mature traumacore" slop.
